one bowl apple cake

the easiest, fluffiest, apple-ly cake you'll ever eat




prep time: 15 minutes

cook time: 1h-1h 10 minutes


ingredients


4 apples peeled, cored, sliced

2 cups self raising flour

1 cup caster sugar

1 tsp vanilla bean paste

160ml milk

120ml vegetable oil

1 tbsp cinnamon

3 eggs

demerara sugar, to sprinkle


method


preheat oven to 180 degrees


grease and line an 8 inch cake tin


in a mixing bowl whisk together the milk, oil, sugar, vanilla and eggs


sift in the flour and cinnamon and stir to combine


fold through 3 of the sliced apples then pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin


decorate the top of the cake with the final sliced apple and sprinkle well with demerara sugar


bake for 1h-1h 10 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean


serve warm with fresh cream
